Below you can read the terms and conditions that apply when you shop at Château Wines Direct. We have compiled all texts on one page, both for our Danish and our Swedish customers. By placing an order, you accept these terms and conditions applicable to Château Wines Direct.
General
Château Wines Direct complies with Danish laws for the sale of alcohol, so you must be at least 16 years of age to be able to purchase from Château Wines Direct as a Danish customer.
Château Wines Direct complies with Swedish legislation for the sale of alcohol, so you must be at least 20 years of age to be able to purchase and receive delivery from Château Wines Direct as a Swedish customer.
Terms and Conditions
Orders
For our Danish customers, prices on the Château Wines Direct website incl. DK VAT and other excise duty taxes. Prices are daily and are subject to change without notice.
For our Swedish customers, prices on the Château Wines Direct website incl. Swedish VAT and statutory excise duty taxes. Prices are daily and are subject to change without notice.
Reservations are made for errors and deficiencies in prices and descriptions, as well as for sold out items.
Once we receive your order, you will receive a confirmation per email. If you have created a profile on our website and log in, it will be possible to see a history of your previous orders.
In rare cases, there may be system errors that enable you to order a product that Château Wines Direct is unable to deliver. In such a case, we will contact you and discuss options for a solution, of which you can always choose to request a full refund.
Payment
Château Wines Direct uses the online payment system Bambora.
On the Château Wines Direct website and in our warehouse, you have the option to pay with:
- Visa Dankort
- Visa
- Mastercard
- Mobilepay
- Maestro
- Paypal
Payment will only be deducted from your account when the physical item is shipped, unless otherwise agreed or stated in your order. For orders that you choose to pick up at our warehouse, payment will only be deducted from your account when the physical item is packed and ready for pickup.
For our Swedish customers who choose to pick up at our warehouse, payment will be made in DKK (Danish kroner) and only include Danish VAT and Danish excise duty taxes. You will have to ensure the reporting and payment of any statutory Swedish excise tax yourself.
The website uses the following currencies for pricing: DKK (Danish kroner) when orders are shipped to Denmark, and SEK (Swedish kroner) when orders are shipped to Sweden.
Security
The Château Wines Direct ensures secure payment when paying by credit card. This means that you have the option to decline your payment when you receive your payment statement. That way you are protected against abuse.
Château Wines Direct uses 3D Secure and uses a secure online payment service that encrypts all information with SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocol, which means your data is secure and cannot be read by others.
Delivery
Château Wines Direct ships goods with a freight forwarder. We ship from our warehouse Tuesdays and Thursdays. Orders must be received by Château Wines Direct no later than 12pm the day before.
We do our best to ensure that you receive your order as soon as possible.
Delivery in Denmark
In Denmark, the delivery time for orders is approx. 1-5 working days, Monday-Friday and can be delivered to both private and business addresses. If you are not at home but there is an option to place the wines in a safe place at the address, note this in your order so freightman know when making your delivery (this is at your own risk).
You can also choose to have delivery to the nearest parcel pick-up shop.
The price for shipping within Denmark is 100 DKK, regardless of the number of bottles. There is no handling fee, and all shipments are securely wrapped in suitable wine shipping packaging that is pre-approved by our logistics partner.
Delivery to Sweden
In Sweden, the delivery time for orders is approx. 4-7 working days. Delivery is Monday-Friday from 8pm-10pm, and Bring Logistik will contact you via SMS or telephone to arrange delivery time. Upon delivery, you must show valid identification to ensure that you as a customer / recipient are 20 years of age. This is to comply with Swedish law.
The price for shipping to Sweden is SEK 200, regardless of the number of bottles. There is no handling fee, and all shipments are securely wrapped in suitable wine shipping packaging that is pre-approved by our logistics partner.
For shipments to both Denmark and Sweden, you will always receive a track-and-trace number so that you can follow your package from our warehouse to your chosen delivery address.
Pick up at our warehouse in Fredensborg
Pick-up at our warehouse can take place Tuesdays and Thursdays (except holidays), between 3pm-5pm, as long as the order is received by us latest at 12pm the day before. Additionally, orders can be picked up when we hold open-house tastings (see our Events page for upcoming dates / times).
For our Swedish customers who choose to pick up at our warehouse, payment will be made in DKK (Danish kroner) and only include Danish VAT and Danish excise duty taxes. You will have to ensure the reporting and payment of any statutory Swedish excise tax yourself.

Right of withdrawal / Complaint
According to the Consumer Agreement Act, beverages are not covered by the right of return. However, Château Wines Direct has chosen to provide the extra service that if the goods sent do not meet your expectations, you can receive a refund or exchange them for others. The items must be returned to Château Wines Direct in the same condition and quantity as you received them, no later than 14 days from the day you received them.
If you refuse to receive the item from the shipping company, it will be returned to us and we will credit the full amount to your account.
Château Wines Direct grants a 2-year warranty under the Purchasing Act, however, the complaint follows the natural shelf life of the product. The right of complaint does not cover defects, damage or wear, directly or indirectly caused by improper operation, poor maintenance, violence or unauthorized intervention. Complaints about defects and deficiencies must be communicated to Château Wines Direct within a reasonable time and in writing. The item can be returned for exchange or a full refund.
When returning goods, please enclose a copy of the invoice, a description of why the goods are being returned, and the bank registration number and account number to which the money is to be refunded. Remember to ensure responsible packaging when returning goods. Returned items must be shipped to:

NOTE: We do not receive parcels sent as ‘paid for by receipient’ or similar. You must bear all costs associated with the return of the items.

Customer & Personal Data Policy
In order for Château Wines Direct to fulfill your order correctly, you must at very least supply the following:
- Name
- Address
- Phone number
- Email address
All registered information is processed in accordance with the rules of the Personal Data Act. Your information will not be sold or disclosed to any third party, except for disclosure in order to complete your order (for example, information provided to a shipping company). As a registered person, you always have the option to request access to your information and you can object to a registration in accordance with the rules in the Personal Data Act.
The personal information is registered with Château Wines Direct and stored for up to five years (due to the requirements of the Accounting Act), after which time the information is deleted.
When collecting personal data through our website, we ensure that it always happens when you give your explicit consent so that you are informed of exactly what information is collected and why. In addition, in cases where our collection of information is based on consent, you always have the right to withdraw. If you have a registered account with Château Wines Direct, you always have the right to retract your registration. A cookie is a small data file stored on your computer that allows us to recognize the computer the next time you visit our website. A cookie is a passive file and cannot spread computer viruses or other malicious programs or viruses.
